Eponyms drive me nuts. They don't mean anything, it's just some one's name. I prefer words that actually mean things, like cholecystokinin. Chole is bile, cyst is bladder, and kinin means to move (like kinetic), so cholecystokinin is the hormone that causes the gallbladder to contract and secrete bile.
This blog will be devoted to defining and describing the eponyms that I run into in everyday life. Most will be medical terms, all will be named after people rather than using more appropriate descriptive terms. I may also suggest a more descriptive term to replace the eponym.
